DIALOGUE

__Burcu: Hi! I am from the savage reservation but I don’t know anything about your world. I wonder what kind of a world you are living.

__Mehmet: It is the brave new world. We don’t believe your religions or god or holy books. We only believe in FORD.

__Miray: We have soma, so we are always happy and relaxed.We don’t care about anything.

__Mehmet: We are always safe and we are never ill. Also we don’t know about old age.

__Miray: We aren’t worried about mothers or fathers. We never become pregnant, so we haven’t got a child responsibility. Of course the most important thing in our world is that you aren’t afraid of death.

__Mehmet: In addition to this, in our world there are five groups. These are Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas and Epsilons. You can choose one of them. For example I am an Alpha.

__Miray: I am a beta girl.

__Emrah: And I am a Delta

__Burcu: OK. Which one is good for me? What do you do in daily life? Because I don’t know anything about your groups. What kind of responsibilities do you have in brave new world. Can you explain?

__Mehmet: I am an Alpha that means We are the intellectuals of the society. We are very clever and also we have been well conditioned. __ Miray: Okay. I am very glad because of your decision. I am Lenina and I am a beta girl. Betas are more clever than gammas, deltas and epsilons. We are very atractive and also beta girls are very beautiful as you see. We don’t work as hard as alphas do. However, we also work at important jobs. For example I am working in hatchery where children produced from those eggs. At the same time we aren’t pleasant with other groups. Epsilons are too stupid to be able to read or write. __Burcu:Hımm!!that sounds good. It is very interesting. What do you think about me. Can I be a beta girl?

__Miray: Why not!!

__Emrah: Please listen to me. We are deltas. We wear khaki. Our responsibilities are serving.

It is very interesting. I don’t know how I can get used to your rules but I know I don’t want to be a Delta ((( she comes near us and say slighty))) I guess they are very stupid. Arent they?(they smile at burcu)

__Mehmet: It’s ok. Don’t worry. You can stay here for some weeks and then you learn our world and it will be easier to decide.we need to find you a place to stay.

__Miray: If you want you can work with me in the hatchery..

__Burcu: Ok. That’s a good idea

__Emrah: no no!!! please come with me and help me for cleaning and serving.(he insists on going with her)
